Organised between 9 and 10 September, the Study Visit for partners touched Technology Parks, Incubators and other Intermediary organizations in the Austrian cities of Klagenfurt and Salzburg. The Study Visit aimed at learning about the initiatives, services and funding opportunities available for local SMEs and innovative start-ups.
The first day of the Study Visit took place in Klagenfurt, with visits to "Lakeside Science&Technology Park" and "Lakeside Labs". Participants of the Study Visit also attended meetings with the staff of the Incubator "Build!" and the
"Carinthian Promotion Fund" (KWF), focused on financing opportunities offered to SMEs and startups .
The second day of the Study Visit took place in Salzburg, where participants visited "Innovation Service Salzburg " in the morning, then moving in the afternoon to the Technology Park "Techno-Z", to the Business Incubator " Business Creation Centre" and to "Coworking SpaceSalzburg". The meetings focused on the tools to support startuppers and entrepreneurs, with a fruitful exchange of ideas and best practices.
Numerous similarities were found not only among the participating organizations, but also among the different entrepreneurial ecosystems of the various Italian and Austrian regions participating into the program, with similar challenges and obstacles facing local companies and startups.
During this visit, the INCO-NET project partners have collected important data on funding opportunities available in the Austrian regions of Carinthia and Salzburg, which will be used to develop a common financing tool for SMEs and innovative start-ups to be implemented at cross border level.
